Johannesburg, South Africa, Dec.2013. Coronation Park in Krugersdorp.Pierre Potgieter. A community of white squatters living in a park. At half hour drive from the center of Johannesburg, 250 people live without electricity in tents, caravans and wooden houses. Everyone has a tragic story behind and when asked to tell something about their past and how they end up leving in Coronation Park they almost always end up crying. In the camp there are relics of past and more glorious times. Many of them lived in comfortable homes and had jobs estables.At 450,000 white South Africans Least 10 percent of the total white population, live below the poverty line and 100,000 are struggling just to survive, According to civil Largely white Organisations and Trade Union Solidarity .Not too long ago, to be poor in South Africa ment to be black . This is no longer true: about 10 percent of the 450,000 white afrikaners live under poverty. Next to the golfd courses of Krugersdorp town, a community of 258 white squatters live in extremely poor conditions. This is just half an hour drive from central Johannesburg. This weird community has in common tragic and sad stories. Lorenzo Moscia visited them and spoke largely with some, who almost always finished their telling crying. Lile relics of a golden past, around the makeshift wooden houses lies down tattered pieces of furniture, some ornaments and car seats. You wouldn´t imagine that this people once lived in confortable houses and have good jobs.
